After finding out a guy cheated on their sister, sorority house Theta Pi play a simple prank on him. They trick him into thinking that he has killed his girlfriend, then take him into the middle of nowhere to 'dismember" the body, only then revealing it was a prank. However, the prank goes horribly wrong and all involved swear never to speak of it again. A year later at graduation though, they are all reminded of the past..

Movie Trivia:
- The movie was originally intended to be R-rated, but after the success of 2008's Prom Night (2008/I) remake, Summit Entertainment planned to trim it to a PG-13 rating. However, they changed their mind, and decided to keep the movie as a solid R-rated movie.

Briana Evigan had a line in her previous theatrical feature, Step Up 2: The Streets (2008), saying "It's like I've landed in an episode of "The Hills" (2006). In Sorority Row (2009), she ironically co-stars alongside "Hills" cast member, Audrina Patridge.

Leah Pipes originally read for the part for the character of Ellie. After auditoning for Ellie, she auditioned for the part Jessica. After a second audition for the role of Jessica, as well as a makeover of hair extensions and wardrobe change, she was given the part.

In August 2009, the British Board of Film Classification originally classified this film at '18', meaning that no one in the UK under 18 years of age would be able to see it. E1 Films (the UK distributor) asked the Board to reconsider, and in a rare move, they decided to pass the film uncut at a the lower '15' category instead.
