 Five years ago Alice saw her son murdered; now every day is consumed with the need to find his killer. In the sleepy town of Ludlow, the arrival of the mysterious stranger Alice suspects to be the killer of her son coincides with a renewed spate of horrific child murders. - Hellbreder is probably one of the only films to be shot entirely on Kodak's reversal stock and then cross-processed giving the film its unique look.

Originally entitled "Alice", the film was re-titled Hellbreeder and drastically re-edited for commercial reasons. Six speaking parts were cut as well as an almost continuous voice over and several direct to camera addresses. The bookend police interviews were re-shoots.
