It's left to a handful of misfits to save mankind by attempting just that. Movie Trivia: Keir Dullea was the original choice to play the character of Prester John, but declined due to a schedule conflict with Robert De Niro's The Good Shepherd (2006). Tom Savini, was subsequently offered the role due to his longstanding association with the director. Barbara Steele was considered for the role of Anna played by Ingrid Pitt, but the producers decided to make Pitt their first choice and she accepted their offer. The movie is a homage to Hammer horror films of the 1960s, so both actresses were naturals for the part. Ingrid Pitt, as Anna in "Sea of Dust", wears the same boots she wore in "The Vampire Lovers" and "Countess Dracula."
