A.D. 2034. It has been two years since Motoko Kusanagi left Section 9. Togusa is now the new leader of the team, that has considerably increased its appointed personnel. - As part of the Nissan sponsorship, the movie features two concept cars designed by Nissan. The character Togusa drives a white Nissan's Sport Concept hatchback, and both Togusa and Aramaki travel in Nissan's six seater Infiniti Kuraza.
