Movie Trivia
- The title of the film is a reference to the companions of Peter Pan, who remained forever young.
- The amusement park scenes were filmed at the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk in California. This is the same park that appeared in _Brotherhood of Justice (1986)_ (also starring Kiefer Sutherland). The Boardwalk also was seen in the Dirty Harry sequel Sudden Impact (1983) and Harold and Maude (1971).
- The movie was originally written as a bunch of "Goonie-type 5th-6th grade kid vampires". Joel Sheumacher liked the title but hated the concept, so he changed it.
- Although the movie is clearly set in Santa Cruz, Ca (the Boardwalk and Pier are featured in several scenes) the city name given in the film is the-as far as I know-fictional Santa Carla. Apparently the Santa Cruz chamber of commerce was not keen on reviving the "Murder capital" moniker, which had been hung on Santa Cruz during a serial killer's rampage in the 70s.
- Both Corey Feldman, who plays Edgar Frog, and Barnard Hughes, who plays Grandpa, share the same birthday, July 16th.
- David is impaled on a pair of antlers and doesn't disintegrate like the other vampires. Despite what Max later says, he is not really dead. This was intended to be picked up in the sequel, which was scripted but never made.
Movie Mistakes
- Continuity: Michael bursts the top of the milk carton open when he drops it on the floor. Later, Lucy picks it up and only the spout is open.
- Continuity: The phone that Michael knocks off the hook when flying around his room rings later.
- Revealing mistakes: Shot of the approach to the cave was filmed and then played backwards.
- Continuity: Max's jacket is soaked by the Frog Brothers, but can be seen soon after to be dry.
- Incorrectly regarded as goofs: Before Star gets on David's motorcycle to go to the cave, she isn't wearing a coat. During the motorcycle processional to the cave, she suddenly appears wearing one. However, she can be seen putting on a coat just before this sequence.
- Continuity: The security guard at the beginning of the movie holds his cap as he runs in close-up shots, but doesn't in long shots.
- Continuity: The vampires kill a punk teen and his girlfriend in their car (the girlfriend is reading a comic book). Later, when David and his gang kill a group of men partying in front of a bonfire as Michael watches, that same punk teen is killed again.
- Continuity: The gate jumps back and forth between broken and mended when the dog jumps against it.
- Crew or equipment visible: When Michael is in his room and he begins to float, his harness is visible.
- Factual Errors: The credits at the end give credit to the poster hanging on the wall in Sam's room as a still from Breakfast Club, The (1985). In fact, this picture of Molly Ringwald in a dark blue shirt sitting in a classroom is not from The Breakfast Club, but instead, from Sixteen Candles (1984).
