Plot Description:
An assault on the sensibilities of a sane person, this film coldly observes the horrendous actions of a serial killer who executes random victims in various ways. HENRY PORTRAIT OF A SERIAL KILLER, loosely based on the case of Henry Lee Lucas, a confessed serial killer, is a terrifyingly intimate journey into the twisted life of a murderous psychotic. As the blank-eyed Henry (Michael Rooker) drifts from place to place, he selects victims at random, slaughters them, and captures the brutality on videotape. When he is joined by his deranged roommate, a loudmouthed ex-convict named Otis (Tom Towles), the almost unfathomable malevolent acts multiply.

Movie Trivia
- There is a very gruesome scene, shot on videotape, where Henry and Otis kill a family in their home. After filming the scene, the actor who plays the mother went into shock.
- The film is only loosely based on the life of Henry Lucas. In real life Becky was Otis' pre-teen niece, not his 25-year old sister. Also, Otis was not murdered by Henry, he got arrested and was executed.
- The movie playing on the television set, just before Otis breaks it, is Becket, starring Richard Burton and Peter O'Toole.
